In a lovely little lake, there once lived three fish. The names of the fish were fitting for their personalities.
The first fish had a talent for making quick decisions on the spot. So, she was called ‘Instantly’.
The second fish was called ‘Wellses’. However, grave a situation, she always said, “We’ll see.”
The third fish was a strong believer in the idea of destiny. She always said, “one’s destiny cannot be changed. The inevitable will happen.” So, she was called ‘Will happen’.
‘Instantly’. ‘Wellses’ and ‘Will happen’ the best of friends.
One day, a group of fishermen arrived at the lake and settled themselves on the bank.
One of them said, “How beautiful this lake is!”
“I am sure there are many fish in it,” said another fisherman.
Well-equipped the third fisherman said, “We will come here tomorrow morning and catch some fish.”
The conversation taking place among the fishermen was inadvertently heard by the three fish.
‘Instantly’ said, “Our lives are at risk here. We must depart this location without delay.”
‘Wellses’ said, “There appears to be no danger right now. We’ll see when it comes.”
‘Will happen’ sighed and said, “The inevitable will happen.”
‘Instantly’ said, “All right, it’s your wish. Even if you don’t join me, I am going away immediately.”
Having said this, ‘Instantly’ left the spot for another safe spot in the lake.
When morning came, the fishermen made their way back to the lake.
They had big fishing nets in their hands.
‘Wellses’ said to ‘Will happen’. “I think we are in trouble now. Let’s leave as soon as we can.”
“Why should we leave?” asked ‘Will happen’. “We cannot change our fate.
The inevitable will happen.”
“Well,” said ‘Wellses’, “you wish. But here I go.”
Having said this, ‘Wellses’ swam fast to save her life.
Upon arriving at the lake, the fishermen began their work by throwing their nets into the water. “Will happen’, who was a firm believer in destiny, had not left the spot. She was caught in a net.
Moral of the bedtime story of the three lovely fish
- We should act thoughtful and quickly, when a serious situation came.
- Doing nothing in a situation will eventually end up with a failure.
